What the magnets actually do

Two separate jobs, and people usually only think about one. The first is holding the cover shut, which is what stops the case flopping open in a bag and stops the screen meeting a set of keys. The second is the one that matters day to day: the magnets in the lid trigger your Kindle's own built-in cover sensor. Close the cover and the screen sleeps. Open it and it lights, already on the page you left. No power button, no swipe, no waiting — and measurably less battery drain than letting the device time out on its own every time you put it down. Over a week of reading in ten-minute stretches, that difference is not small.

Does it work with my Kindle?

Yes, on every model we make a case for. The sleep/wake sensor is built into the Kindle itself, not into the case — the case only supplies the magnet that triggers it. That covers the Paperwhite 12th generation (2024–2025), the Paperwhite Signature Edition, the Colorsoft Signature, the Paperwhite 11th generation (2021–2023) and the base 11th-generation Kindle (2022 and 2024). What matters is buying the right size, because a case cut for the wrong body puts the magnet in the wrong place relative to the sensor, and then it works intermittently or not at all.

Will the magnet damage the screen or wipe anything?

No. E-ink screens are not magnetically sensitive, and there is nothing on a Kindle for a magnet to erase — the storage is solid state. The magnets used here are small and shielded within the cover panel. The one genuine caution is unrelated to the Kindle: don't stack the closed case directly on top of a hotel key card or an older magnetic-stripe bank card for days at a time.

Where a magnetic folio is the wrong choice

If you want a case that folds back into a stand and props the Kindle at an angle on a kitchen counter, this isn't it — the cover doesn't triangle, and there's no kickstand. It also isn't waterproof or rugged. This is a soft folio for a device that lives between a nightstand and a tote bag, held rather than propped, with an elastic hand strap on the inside back panel doing the holding. And the magnetic closure is a friction fit rather than a clasp: it holds firmly, but a case at the bottom of a heavy bag with something wedged into it can be persuaded open.

Vegan leather — PU with a Saffiano cross-hatch texture — over a TPU inner shell that grips the Kindle at the corners. Opens to the left like a book, with the device mounted on the right interior panel. Print on the front cover only; the back panel is plain matte black on every design. Made in 7", 6.8" and 6.0".
