Start with the device, then pick the design. Fit is the only part of this decision you can get objectively wrong, and it causes almost every return in the category.

Kindle. Amazon reused the Paperwhite name across two body sizes, half an inch apart, and side by side almost nobody can tell them apart. 7" covers the Paperwhite 12th generation (2024–2025), Signature Edition and Colorsoft Signature; 6.8" covers the Paperwhite 11th generation (2021–2023); 6.0" covers the base Kindle. Phone. iPhone 13 through 17, and Samsung Galaxy S26. Open Settings → General → About and read the Model Name line — the Pro and non-Pro of the same generation take different cases because the camera housing differs. See the phone size guide.

iPad. Fourteen models going back to 2018. Turn the iPad over and read the A-number printed near the bottom; that identifies it exactly, which the name on the box does not always do. See which iPad do I have.

They share a design language, not a construction. Worth knowing before you buy the matching set.

Kindle is a folio: vegan Saffiano-textured PU over a soft TPU shell, a magnetic lid that triggers the Kindle's own sleep/wake sensor, and an elastic hand strap on the inside back panel. It opens to the left like a book. The print is on the front cover only; the back is plain matte black.

iPad is also a folio in the same vegan PU, but the cover folds back into a stand at two angles, and a cutaway along the edge leaves the Apple Pencil charging where it should. No hand strap.

Phone is not a folio at all. It is a shell — rigid polycarbonate over a cushioned black TPU liner, with the print wrapping the full exterior and a magnet ring built in for MagSafe. No cover, no stand, no hand strap, no card pockets.

No, and we will not call it leather on its own.

The Kindle and iPad cases are vegan leather — polyurethane with a fine Saffiano cross-hatch pressed into it, over a soft lining, with no animal product anywhere. It holds colour and resists scuffing well at this weight. What it will not do is soften and develop a patina the way hide does; it stays looking like what it is. The phone cases are not leather of any kind — they are polycarbonate with a TPU liner, which is what lets the print wrap the whole shell at full saturation.

Personalization differs too. On a Kindle or iPad folio it is debossed, pressed into the cover as an indent. On a phone shell it is printed into the design as part of the same pass. Neither is foil and neither is printed gold, so there is nothing to lift or flake.

Worth saying before you spend time here. No clear or transparent cases in any range — clear plastic yellows as it reacts to UV and skin oils, and it cannot be cleaned off because the discolouration is inside the material. No wallet cases or card pockets. No keyboard cases. We don't claim waterproofing or a drop rating.

By device: no Kindle Scribe, Scribe Colorsoft or Oasis, and nothing for Kobo or Nook. No iPhone 12 or earlier, and no iPhone SE. No iPad mini, and no iPad 6th generation or earlier.
