Get the size right first

This is the only part of the decision you can actually get wrong. Cases come in 7" (2024–2025 Paperwhite, Paperwhite Signature, Colorsoft Signature), 6.8" (2021–2023 Paperwhite) and 6.0" (11th-gen Kindle). The 6.8" and the 7" look nearly identical and are not interchangeable. If you can get near her Kindle, Settings → Device Options → Device Info gives the exact model in five taps; the size guide maps it to a size.

Then pick by how loud she likes things

One caution on personalizing
