Midnight Moon Phases AirPods Case

Choose your model above — only the models in that menu are made for this design. Apple never printed the generation on the outside, so here is how to tell them apart.

• AirPods Pro (1st gen) — 75 mm wide
• AirPods Pro (2nd gen) — 70 mm wide, about 5 mm narrower than the 1st
• AirPods Pro (3rd gen) — the newest Pro case
• AirPods (1st & 2nd gen) — the tall original case, 54 mm wide. Both generations share one body.
• AirPods (3rd gen) — 67 mm wide
• AirPods (4th gen) — 60 mm wide
• AirPods 5 — the newest standard AirPods case

Does not fit: AirPods Max.

Not sure which you have? Open the lid near your iPhone, then Settings → Bluetooth → the i next to your AirPods and read the Model Name line. Full detail in the size guide.

The phases of the moon in antique gold — crescent, half, full, and back again — stacked down a fine dotted line, with slender ferns and tiny white wildflowers growing between them. Small gold stars glint either side. Underneath it all, a deep midnight navy with the soft nap of velvet.

The moon column runs down the front of the case, with the midnight navy carried around the sides and over the lid. Made to match the Midnight Moon Phases Kindle case.

• 100% polycarbonate, gloss finish
• 3D full-wrap print — the design covers the front, the side walls and the top lid, not just one face
• Slim, lightweight and scratch-resistant
• Charging port stays open; Qi wireless charging works with the case on
• Carabiner included
• Cut per model — six AirPods models, four different shapes

Please note: this is a cover for the charging case, not a replacement charging case. The AirPods and the case they came with are not included.

Why the print does not wear off

The design is applied by dye sublimation, which means the color goes into the surface of the polycarbonate rather than sitting on top of it as a film or a wrap. There is no printed layer to peel at the corners, and nothing to scuff off where your fingers rest.

What damages it is alcohol. Hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes and surface spray will lift print off any printed case — not stain it, lift it — and the pale patch does not come back. That matters more here than anywhere else in the range, because this is the item most likely to share a pocket with a bottle of sanitizer. A dry cloth is the whole routine. Full cleaning guide.

Why we don't make clear cases

Clear plastic yellows as it reacts to UV light and the oils on your hands, starting at the corners where you hold it. It cannot be cleaned off, because the discoloration is inside the material. Our color is part of the print, so it stays the way it looked on day one.
